Why should I ATTEND?

BE-ST Fest showcases best practice, new solutions, hands-on training, emerging opportunities and much more.

Our events provide the opportunity to be part of the exciting journey to accelerate to zero carbon, to speak with influential members of the built environment to exchange knowledge to help us all break through the challenges and adopt solutions to help reach net zero.

When is BE-ST Fest?

The Festival takes place throughout the months of September, October and November.

The Summit and Exhibition is from 08:30-17:00 on Wednesday 1st November at the BE-ST innovation campus at Hamilton just outside of Glasgow.

The A-Z Awards is at 18:00 on Wednesday 1st November at BaaD in Glasgow.

The International Retrofit Conference is on 2nd November at the BE-ST innovation campus at Hamilton just outside of Glasgow.

Fringe events are taking place at various dates all over the UK and beyond, refer to the Fringe events listings for details of each one.

How do I get there?

The Summit and Exhibition on the 1st November and the International Retrofit Conference will take place at Built Environment - Smarter Transformation at 3 Watt Place, Unit 3B, Hamilton International Technology Park, Blantyre, G72 0AH.

Located 15 miles south east of Glasgow on the A725, BE-ST is well-connected central Scotland’s motorway network – M74, M8 and M77 and is well served by both bus and rail services.

  • Train station: Hamilton Central

  • Shuttle bus: BE-ST will provide an Edinburgh Napier University electric minibus which will be shuttling delegates between Hamilton train and bus stations between 9 and 5:30. 

  • Bus: First Bus service 263 operates from Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station to High Blantyre. Timetable.

  • Car: Free parking available on site.

  • Bike: Bike stands available on site.

  • Taxis: Available outside the Platform 2 entrance to Hamilton Central station.

How much does it cost?

All events and tours are completely free. Spaces are limited so book your places ASAP!  

CAN THE EVENTS BE JOINED VIRTUALLY?

The Summit, Awards and International Retrofit Conference are in person events only although some of the content will be available online afterwards. Follow us on social media and visit our website to find out more. Please refer to each fringe event individually for details of accessibility.

Is parking available at BE-ST?

If arriving by car, you can find us at the last roundabout at University of the West of Scotland take a left and we are the first building on the left (it will be signposted Built Environment – Smarter Transformation). 

There will be 3 free car parks available, two at BE-ST and one overspill close by. Details will be provided by email to those who have registered.

There are charging points in the area but not on site at BE-ST. We advise delegates to refer to apps like Zap Map to check availability of nearby charging.

Use of photography and videography

By attending a BE-ST event, ticket holders consent to being filmed, photographed and recorded as members of the audience. The resulting film footage, images and recordings may be used to promote BE-ST and its activities in print, in the media and online. If you do not wish to be filmed, photographed and recorded please notify a member of staff on arrival at the event.
